Since the first laptop hit the market in 1981, laptops have become an essential product. Their portability, unique designs and easy UI have given them a place in every home. Today, people working with games, codes and design software require high-performance robust laptops that can provide shorter rendering time and faster processing.
If you’re looking for a high-end laptop with all the major facilities and a fast processor, you can opt for any of the best laptops under 60000. Laptops in this range are known for using at least an i5 or i7 processor and can smoothly run games like Call of Duty, Witcher, Crysis and GTA V. They can also run most software used by professionals in their field.
Students may opt for laptops that have the MS Office package preloaded, and have a bendable or touchscreen monitor. They might also want laptops with less than 2kgs weights. Whereas gamers may prefer heavier laptops but with 8GB expandable RAM and a dedicated graphics card. Hence, even in the same range, laptop choices may vary depending on the user.
There are hundreds of model available in the market within this range, so it can get a little confusing. So we have studied the different features and specifications offered by various companies, and created a list of the best laptops under 60000!
Depending on your usage of the product, you can check out the specifications and see which one matches your needs the most.
So, what features should an average laptop in this range possess?
Any best laptop under 60k will have at least an 8GB RAM, and a base processor speed of more than 2.0 GHz. These laptops are heavier and weigh more than 2 kgs as a result. Also, look for a dedicated graphics card of at least 2GB and an SSD expansion drive for future use. The hard drive storage capacity should be at least 512GB. Other factors like battery life and USB ports can be chosen as per user requirement.
Which are the trusted brands for buying the best gaming laptop under 60k?
All laptops in this range are made for heavy use and will have good processor speeds. Still, some companies like ASUS, MSI, and DELL work specifically to create gaming or coding laptops that can work fast in the given environment. Brands like HP and Acer are also known for their products within this range. But keep in mind, that HP isn’t a gaming brand like MSI or Republic of Gamers. HP laptops have more features and longer battery lives, hence their laptops are good for intensive use by officer users.
Should the battery backup be a concern when buying high-end laptops?
Most high-performance laptops have shorter battery lives. Even for advertised battery lives of 7-8 hours, when used in gaming or boost mode, the power drainage is faster. In high-performance mode, the battery life of your laptop might even last for as low as 2-3 hours. Due to the dual cooling fans in gaming laptops, high CPU temperature and short battery life is a frequent and common problem. Hence, look for laptops with faster charging. If you’re a frequent traveller, then it is better to buy office-intensive laptops since these are designed with better backups in mind.
So, let us take a look at the best laptops under 60000 in India.

Things to Look for to Find the Best Laptop Under 60000
A laptop’s performance is not the only thing people look for while buying a laptop. Other factors like Operating systems, display resolutions and even number of ports play an important role. If you’re not sure what specifications would best suit your need, we have compiled an easy buying guide. Read on to find out the best choice for your needs!
1. Performance - RAM and Processor
A laptop’s performance mode should be chosen based on how you are going to use it. For an office or casual user, a 4GB RAM is enough to multitask. However, they might want to opt for a larger hard drive storage capacity, like 1 TB. For users with medium use, that is, without heavy gaming needs - an 8GB RAM will work just fine. There is no need to go for models with an expansion drive.
An Intel Core i5 processor or even an i3 processor is enough to compute these needs. A processor speed of 1.5 GHz and above is ideal for this situation. Look for the highest DDR version. For example, a DDR4 RAM is better than a DDR3 RAM.
For heavy users and professionals in gaming and software, an 8GB expandable RAM of up to 16 GB or 32 GB is an absolute mandatory need. For higher performance, look for an additional external graphics card of at least 2 GB. The total performance of your laptop will depend on the RAM, processor and graphics card used. Processors with a base clock speed of 2.0 GHz are ideal in this scenario. All the best laptops under 60k have 4 processors.
2. Display Screen Size and Resolution
The screen resolution of a laptop is denoted in pixels. Nowadays, even HD screens are going out of style with higher models providing crystal clear clarity at 8K resolution. It is rare to see 4K screen resolution in this price range. The only companies who have done so are ASUS and MSI. A higher screen resolution will mean your computer will require more power and processor speed. It will also be more prone to lagging if the processor is not up to the task. An FHD display resolution is ideal for office users. Gamers may opt for 4K resolution.
ASUS is the only company to provide a 17” screen in this range. All other companies provide a 16”9 ratio screen with a diagonal distance of 15.6”. Rotatable monitors like the Lenovo Yoga have smaller screen sizes like 14”. Smaller screen sizes provide better portability. 15.6” is a good size for both work and travel.
Also, look for an NTSC coating or anti-glare technology. If you are prone to working long hours at the laptop, these coatings will prevent eye strain. HP models also have a night light feature. Another trend is the narrow bezel trend where the space surrounding the screen at the sides is reduced to allow a wider screen. But remember, a narrower bezel means lesser hardware protection.
3. Number and type of USB ports
Most models come with 3 USB ports containing 2 2.1 rated USB port and 1 3.1 rated port. An HDMI port is also present in all models. However, depending on your needs, you might want to look for a model that has a Micro SD Card reader, CD/ DVD Drive and an Ethernet connection as well.
The Dell Inspiron 3583 provides a total of 6 different ports for all user needs. Some models like the ASUS Vivobook can be charged via the USB port as well. VGA ports are rarely seen in newer models as they are going out of date.
4. Battery Backup
For users using their laptops on travel, a good battery backup is essential. The battery backup depends on the rating of the lithium-ion battery used. Look for a rating of more than 40Wh for a good battery backup.
Gaming laptops utilise a lot of power and hence it is rare to find one that will run for long hours at gaming mode. Still, some like the ASUS TUF Gamer and Acer Nitro have over 50Wh rated batteries that can run for a long time. When used in high-performance mode, it is preferable to connect the laptop to an AC adapter.
5. Keyboard
The ASUS TUF Gaming series comes with torture tested keyboards that can withstand 20 million stikes. This is rarely seen as most keyboards can only withstand up to 10 million. Hence, for those who play games, or type a lot, the keyboard is an important factor to consider. Some like the ASUS Vivobook has specially designed keyboards for typing. Most models in this range have keyboard backlight.
Conclusion
This concludes our list of the top 10 best laptops under 60000. The ASUS TUF Gaming FX705DT-AU092T has topped the list with its superb features. Within the 60k price range, it provides and 8 GB expandable RAM, 4K display support, keyboard backlight and a 17.3” screen. Only the ASUS TUF gaming series and the MSI CX62 7QL are known to support 4K resolution in this range. Other laptops provide an FHD resolution of 1080p.
For those with travelling use, longer battery life laptops like the Acer Aspire 5 and the Acer Nitro series are good options. HP Pavilion and the Acer Vivobook are also lightweight and compact models with metallic bodies. Their slim shape allows easy portability. Lenovo Yoga and HP Pavilion are ideal choices for students, especially since the former has a touchscreen and 180-degree rotation monitor.
However, the ASUS TUF Gaming remains the best choice within this range. ASUS has brought out a competitive model that is certainly the best laptop under 60k.
FAQ for Best Laptop Under 60000
1. Should I go for 4K resolution within this range or is it better to stay with FHD?
To support a 4K playback, one will also need a high processor speed and good internet connections at all times. This is why very few companies offer 4K display at this range. However, if you would like to go for any laptop that provides it, check for the processor speed and if it is above 2.0 GHz, then you may go ahead.
2. How important is it to consider an expansion SSD?
Most companies producing gaming laptops today assume users will install an SSD, hence if the option is available, your laptop will likely work much better after you have installed one. Again, an SSD is only needed for high-end usage. If you have an 8GB RAM, and a dedicated graphics card and are only a medium user, then an SSD is not important at all. Laptops within this range have faster quad-core processors, which is enough for students.
3. If I get an external graphics card, will it share user data with the parent company?
Trusted graphics card providers like NVIDIA, Radeon and GeForce do not share any personal user information with their parent company. Data shared is mainly related to error reports or payment complications. If you are scared about data-mining, NVIDIA is a good and trusted company to use.
4. My laptop has an expandable RAM but no M.2 slot. What does this mean?
Most laptops with an expandable RAM comes with an M.2 slot to attach an SSD as and when required. However, if your laptop provider claims it is expandable, but there is no M.2 slot, it means you will have to send it for SSD expansion and an invasive process will be carried out by taking out the chassis. This is not suggested unless required.
